Space without Place
The project is a five storey complex built on top of and connected to an newly erected office tower on Highway 1 and Avenue B. Each storey is of a standard concrete slab construction plugged into it’s core, the socket to the network. Then topographies simulating varying geographical conditions of the world are constructed as a green-screens; hence acting as rendering surfaces. Each person is equipped with virtual sensory package that offers them the full spectrum of experience in their desired “destination” The GPS attached to each person monitors their movements and creates looped paths for them to follow. The confined floor surface is cut into an infinite motion space where no external sensory stimulant is necessary for the identification with the environment. Every single memory of the space is a product of the network.
