Every citizen is represented with a light. Starting from the place of a leave on the outer part of the monument within a lifetime the location of the light moves toward the bottom. With the death or by leaving the town the light moves into the mirrored copy of the tree in the underworld.
This tree of memory is viewable thru and mirrored by a glass bottomed pool. This tree also is a huge database with an interactive interface to collects stories. It would be a duty of every citizen to give in a personal story at least one time a year. Starting with a story from where he/she came from at the inital ritual or about there family if they are born in Everyville. With the time the tree becomes a interactive museum of stories from the city and its inhabitants and can be explored. It expands into tunnels, symbolising the roots of the town and conserve the individual and communal stories of Everyville.

We're all rooted in memories and our memories are the roots of the world we live in.
