On the viaducts, light metal structures support solar panels and vertical turbines, making shade’s spaces and stop places for the park users. Soil tanks draw the plan of disused highway and hold shrubs, extending the mountains’ green.
Instead, the viaducts’ piers become the protagonists of an unexpected landscape, enjoyed by paths hanging under the highway’s intrados, which build the structure for installing and maintenance of the wind devices, as well as allow a new point of view from the bottom of those big engineering works.
The project uses elements found in the same place – tunnels, traced, piers, viaducts, agricultural footpath and roads made for construction - to generate connection between coast and hinterland, producing renewable powers.
Few elements and signs recover a disused infrastructure, turning it into resource, in accordance with the principles of sustainability, appropriateness to places’ features and safeguard for a territory of great beauty.
