Both inexpensive and simple, the MFC system can be fully integrated onto the viaducts with minimal initial investment. (1.2million €) MFC fields are subtly terraced using concrete rubble weirs that slow the movement of water through networks of shallow cells of scarified concrete/asphalt. Each cell contains several individual MFCs & fractured concrete substrate as the medium for pioneering vegetation. Rainwater & graywater sources from uphill sources ensure regular water to activate electric producing microbes.

Low system expense allows for greater investment in scientific centers/research grants to foster new advancement in the growing study of MFC production. A series of research stations, will encompass portions of the viaduct carriageway with flexible ETFE skin structures. These 4 stations act as catalysts for decay by visibly integrating into the surrounding context to regulate the system's nutrient input &energy output. (station: 4million€)
