Banded Renewal is a concept which proposes a series of carbon, water, and energy positive interventions along the viaducts of the Solar Park South and binds them with swaths of land dedicated to eco-tourism, forest conservation, sustainable agriculture, light harvesting, small-scale hydroelectric, and algae bioreactors.
The eco-viaducts are each designated to a realm of environmentalism and have devoted research laboratory facilities built into existing tunnels. The viaduct interventions are sculptural elements, efficiently formed from their respective integrated sustainable systems.
These viaduct interventions will have an ecological social impact on the surrounding communities and visitors from around the world. The combination of the eco-viaducts, research facilities, and surface land-use will emerge Solar Park South as a world center for sustainability research, a global eco-tourism destination, and the world's first energy and carbon positive roadway.
