In 2160 the ParcoSolareSud will open its gates to the public.
From that time on, it will be possible to see the work of renaturalisation carried out in the previous 150 years with regard to both flora and fauna. In the 150 years to come, the architecture of large bridges and viaducts as well as the roads and paths in this large area will undertake a progressive process of ruining, which will accentuate the tendency to renaturalisation of the materials of construction. The limits of the enclosure can at first be marked by a simple wire fence which later must be replaced by a brick wall.
For Calabria the aim is to reconstruct a limited but significant part of its primeval landscape over a period of 150 years. This is a brand new landscape-project that contrasts the ornamental and arcadian concept of nature dominant today. Instead the project aims at expressing an idea of architecture and landscape that exceeds ordinary human life-span.
