Devices for energy production and storage:
In a 10 km field we experiment energy production and storage (photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind power, bio-fuels plants and hydrogen production; cryogenic superconductive accumulations, hydroelectric storage)
The electrical network will be linked to a smart-grid that will manage the energy production and storage meeting all the users’ demands, production and storage.
Tecnological facilities:
The study of the tunnel cross-sections suggests to maintain the continuity of the path at road level and to introduce a bridge element inside the tunnels to contain R&D labs, devoted to develop new technologies for environment friendly energy production and storage systems such as nanomaterials for ultracapacitors, DNA engineering for bio-fuels, aero-elastic flutters, organic semiconductors, artificial photosynthesis and fuel cells
The aim is to demonstrate the efficiency of the whole system and disseminate the scientific results of the national research
