Respecting the surrounding landscape and relative nature of the site, the project proposes an intervention, built off of the existing highway, disturbing flow to allow for gradients of tactile and visual stimulation from the site and solar processes. A line lightly weaves through and around the concrete and steel of the decommissioned A3 lanes, creating an environment that provides contrast, oscillating between space, speed, and time. The project aims to activate the discarded artery with solar-fueled programs, transforming the segment into both a relaxing and educational destination, rather than an intermediate zone through which one travels. Further, this solar parkway can be used to stimulate local communities with food fairs, wine tasting, product testing, film festivals, and endless cultural events.
