| an enclosure of a towertop appartment in london adjacent to tate modern. a complex spiralling tessellated enclosure comprised of layered facetted surfaces of metal, glass and fabric. the goal is to produce the possibility of an architectural form that can be globally varied to allow for thermal and structural efficiency. the structure will be lightweight fiberglass trusses with glued glass panels. the project hints at entirely new spatial and structural arrangements hinted at by sophisticated computer modelling processes. design team: mark goulthorpe, matteo grimaldi, julian lomessy. parametric design: mark burry, grant dunlop, andrew maher, greg more. engineers: david glover and ed clark ovearup&partners. mathematics: keith ball, alex scott.
