The LIVING CEMETERY concept of Everyville takes form as a promenade, or ramble. The pace of expansion of this form is determined by residents of the town, both in the conscious decisions they make about how development should occur, and by their demographic characteristics. The cemetery is linear, as is a promenade or ramble, and curves back on itself to fill all of Everyville. In general, the living cemetery is allowed to spread to dominate the town at its own speed and in its own way. However, a few key pieces of the urban landscape play especially important roles. The living cemetery is a place where people go about their daily lives, making it a vibrant, civic place. Therefore, the civic buildings of the community, such as the town hall, police and fire stations, and schools, should have particular primacy of place in the urban fabric. Everyville’s LIVING CEMETERY serves as a green link between these civic buildings, the people, and the community they form together.
