cit•y - A center of population, commerce, and culture; a town of significant size and importance.

air•port - A tract of leveled land where aircraft can take off and land, usually equipped with hard-surfaced landing strips.

This design attempts a concerted amalgamation of these two otherwise independent and irreconcilable entities.
This is of particular importance because with the growth rates being experienced in today’s mega-cities,
t is no longer a viable alternative to force the airport outside the city and encourage unnecessary transit
which could be reduced or avoided altogether, regardless of the detrimental effect that airports have on real estate values.
My unconventional approach involves locating the airport above a fictional city. However for the sake of the dialectic,
I have used Lagos, Nigeria, as a tool for investigation.
