We focus on the possibility to use the traditional construction techniques, typical of country-side houses, for new residential and commercial areas. Such possibility will be highlighted through the adoption of an orthogonal system.
The manor house located in ‘Big A’ area will be renovated and will function both as railway station and trolley bus terminus; the building itself will remain a housing complex or a school. Instead the cattle shed will be transformed into a tourist information centre.
In the ‘Small B’ complex the farmhouse will host the Municipal offices, the stable will become an indoor market and the cattle shed will turn into a Starbuck’s.
The shopping precincts will inherit the exterior aspects typical of farmhouses, while the semidetached houses, in an outlying residential area, will take the looks of the pre-existing stables. The buildings’coverings and finishings, fully made of local material, will boost handicraft in the short supply chain.
