The manipulation of the environment is achieved through the modularity of the grid and panel system. The grid is comprised of the repetition of a single unit which accommodates multiple scales and functions. The unit is a steel frame which allows for easy installation or removal of various panels. Through their configuration and materiality, the panels help to create an indoor/outdoor relationship. Panels such as drywall or glass can create homes, school or public buildings, while grass or pavement help to form open outdoor spaces. Due to their changeability, the panels can generate multiple configurations of spaces and encourage the users to create their own environment. Therefore, identity and community are created through the adaptability of the architecture.
