Planting creates an interactive learning environment. Olives, figs and lemons reflect southern Italy’s agricultural background and highlight the importance of this industry, whilst perfumed flowers encourage a sensory exploration. A communal bicycle strategy is to be adopted to actively pursue the notion and importance of physical exercise and sustainable transport methods. To facilitate the continual servicing of the bikes, and promote local tourism, several small transport hubs are envisioned along the length of the road. Complimenting the hubs will be a number of cranes that echo the busy harbour ports clinging along the coast. The cranes will support a series of pods beneath the road that offer a distinctly individual panoramic experience of the impressive setting. Suspended in mid air, the elegant seed-like cocoons will offer a spectacular view that is truly special and unique, an intimate space that could that could act as bird hides or offer a memorable dining experience.
