Plantations: vineyards and mushrooms are the main crops of the project, being a typical products of Calabria. Vineyards are located under the viaduct attached to the columns as if they were flying green terraces. Mushrooms are cultivated in two different tunnels, a perfect way to grow them while reusing this dark and humid infrastructure.
Green Research: investigation modules are located next to each cropping area and a research complex is placed inside the semi tunnel. Knowledge and innovations in the field of sustainability will be shared to the public in interactive exhibition rooms distributed along an equipped tunnel.
Self Sufficiency: this is achieved through a system of photovoltaic cellules applied in the south face of the structure, wind mills and biogas obtained from agriculture and human waste. Construction materials are intrinsic to the site.
