A Calabria drawn up under its own powers. Agricultural rejuvenation & energy microgeneration enabled by rural acupuncture. Fortunate geographies of warmth, vistas, seas, & light beckon vacationers and researchers alike. Farmers share knowledge, produce yields through droughts & power through 'plants'. The 'off-limits' become experiential: highways as boardwalks, power-stations you can touch, civic research forums for all. The banal become wondrous: farmland producing power ‘play’ces, greenhouses in the air, bridges as classrooms.

The distinct geography demanded a bottom-up approach involving local empowerment, smaller-scale build, & landscape communion. The highway becomes a rootstock. New uses are grafted onto locations that favourably intermingle ‘cultural’ geographies. The trunk-road branches out to the neighbouring landscape, enriching it and creating a new cross-grain access infrastructure.

The road facilitates circulation of nourishment for the region’s body & mind.
