The proposal aims at preserving a wide-ranging, interconnected “green infrastructure land network” that, over the long term, provides society with essential ecosystem services. It will also help ensure the continuance of industries such as energy production, agriculture, tourism, forestry and fisheries that rely on a clean, healthy environment.
The strength of the proposed is its flexibility and the fact that it will provide integrated energy solutions.
The proposed idea is to marry the restoration with green infrastructure to fill in the gaps in the network from a habitat and life quality perspective. Developed, agricultural, and mined lands are included in the resulting green infrastructure land network and provide excellent opportunities for ecologically superior restoration activities.
Emphasis in detailed design project has been on local alternative routing, energy parks and labs, sporting and cultural facilities and innovative landmarks and belvedere.
