| The only non-coastal station is Pozzuoli Solfatara, located in a area of great density of population and services.
It links the town to Naples and is congested by a large number of commuters, overcrowding Via Solfatara by using this node as “park and ride”.
The new station draws a new urban plan, creating a new and important access to the city and the entire metropolitan system.
The design choice, dictated by an awareness of the strategic importance of the site, has the value of integrative proposal and operational specification of the ‘Peter Eiseman Pozzuoli Masterplan’ presented at the recent Forum for the Campi Flegrei (22.5.2009).
