| - with Marc Pouzol - The project enhanced Central Berlin Friedrichstrasse’s potential as an urban playground. Movement and mingling is one of the the site’s main characters. Here shoppers and deliverers, tourists, cyclists, the hushed or the curious, flaneurs, and automobilists share the street. One surfaces from the underground or disappears into the ground on an escalator. Between the passers-by, the bicycles and cars one has to meander and wriggle, maybe even do a little dance. The sidewalk become a zone of transgression, it itself crosses the cars’ lane, dissolves, lifts and reaches knees’ height, to become a tangible impulse for an urban phantasy. |
