| on one side the city, with its striation, functionality and diversity of program: planned, but unpredictable. on the other side the landscape, with its scenery, smoothness and materiality: untouched, but cultivated. what is closer to the nature of being: times square or the english garden?
this proposal for the 13-acres competition (honorable mention), which asked for a park design with an integrated schoolyard, deals with the borders and overlays between nature and culture. an artifical grid is superimposed on a manipulated topography. each plot is defined by its relativ position, its 'cut out' topography and the temporary program. |
