| The design process of this single house started with a simple act, the placement of a folded wall which plays a leading role in the definition of the entire project being actually the matrix of the entire composition.
All the volumes hosting the different activities of the house and connecting elements like staircases and footbridge-like gangways are in fact built close to it as to get protection - some of them hung to it and others crossing it - and play with the idea of the wall itself being a connecting element and a separating one at the same time.
Openings in the “Wall”, which is clad with dark slate, were carefully studied to “force” particular views of the beautiful surroundings, to play with geometrical shades and rays of sunlight projected on the outside pavement and lawn and to let the observer have different perceptions of lightness and heavyness of this architectural archetype depending on the observation point.
