CHANGING CITIES Renovation and reuse - Suburbs and brownfiel
Project themes and conversation
The current social, political and economic dynamics sometimes require a radical change of the existing context of cities. New ways of settlement and the the changing dimensions of use of public spaces, no longer consistent with the shape and performance capabilities of the original city, call for a critical reflection on the state of affairs and an open attitude to renewal programs.
Project, innovation and governance models, including the expectations of the multifarious settled communities, along with the protection of natural resources, are the breeding ground for new social architecture, the redevelopment of brownfield sites and suburbs, the redefinition and rehabilitation of public space and urban mobility and the renovation and reuse of abandoned buildings and dilapidated neighborhoods.
Program
The study days will include sessions scheduled with short reports, communications and interdisciplinary discussions alternating with workshops in which all members can present their work and discuss various aspects of the proposed project. There will be an exhibition of work presented by the participants in the competition with a catalogue distributed among those attending the seminar.
On the final day, certificates of participation will be awarded and the prizes for CAMERINO 2015.
As always, the seminar will include the Camerino Festival of Architecture with art events, exhibitions and informal meetings. A monograph of the workshop will be published on Architettura e Città , Di Baio Editore.
