Nissen Adams home
Nissen Adams was founded in 2002 by Pippa Nissen and Ben Adams. Their practice is involved in a range of size and types of buildings. They enjoy learning through building whilst working on site with real materials and problems. Recent projects include larger office and commercial developments, as well as smaller domestic extensions. Housing in all its forms is a particular interest for the practice; recent projects include a vast array of different housing types; including a houseboat and new-build contemporary buildings in sensitive conservation areas. How something fits into an existing fabric (both urban and in a landscape) is a recurring theme; through the use of different surfaces, as well as through form. Pippa also works as a theatre designer and film maker. This fascination in the theatrical feeds into projects within the office – acting as a test-bed of techniques and ideas that can influence the larger work.
