NOIA is an ambiguous linguistic term; it means boredom, melancholy, and impatience, all at the same time. It stands for the situation of reflection that anticipates the design process, taking advantage of unavoidable errors, attempts, and misunderstandings. NOIA is an Architectural Practice founded in 2020 by Salome Katamadze (Tbilisi, 1994) and Duccio Fantoni (Prato, 1994) between Italy and Georgia. The office works on projects of different scales and nature, with relentless optimism and no distinction between research and design.
