The artwork of SWAMP, for the past several years, has employed computer-based techniques to explore phenomena of our post-industrial culture. These phenomena range from the emergence of megabox shopping outlets, to the ubiquity of fast-food chains, to adoration of super-stars by popular culture. Mass media, focused on increasing profit margins, generally ignore this sensibility, nourishing a growing myopia amongst our mediated culture. The artwork of SWAMP is an attempt to emit a signal of caution, concern and contemplation regarding this current trajectory for humanity that is controlled by exploitive decisions answering only to profit. SWAMP artwork is produced by Matt Kenyon (left) and Douglas Easterly (right).
