SPUTNIK is a firm for architecture, urbanism and research based in Rotterdam. After publishing the book ‘Snooze, immersing architecture into mass culture’, SPUTNIK has designed architectural and urban projects like the prize-winning proposals for urban restructuring in Taiwan, for a housing scheme in Delfshaven and an urban project for the Rotterdam suburb of Hoogvliet. SPUTNIK received the prestigious Charlotte Köhler-award in 2004 in the Netherlands for emerging architecture. Currently the office is involved in several housing projects in The Netherlands and the design of two large plants in Nigeria, Africa. Partners teach at the TU-Delft and at the Architecture Academy in Rotterdam.
