Infinium Golf
Lima, Peru - first prize
The uncontrolled urban growth of Lima requires a densification process. This has unleashed a real-estate boom of housing buildings. Nevertheless, the creative and effort have more to do profitability than with urban and spatial qualities. The quality about the Infinium project is based on a solution which maintains the high real-estate profit, but drifts from the simple extrusion of the maximum building surface allowed with typical plans that repeat themselves, which will turn into a massive 130m long wall. What we have done was to rearrange the built mass, placing less houses in the lower floors (lesser estate value) and in return get more penthouses. This liberates ground area for a park and avoids blocking the hill landscape on the back. Internally a big diversity of dwelling typologies become a real alternative to low-density free standing single houses.
