the urban space we propose links into the existing urban/infrastructural fabric and provides a ‘web’ of mixed-use development as well as pedestrian, cycle, vehicular, commercial and public links. the junction have been lowered halfway into the ground, this allows the surface of the city to flow uninterruptedly over the roads, providing pedestrian connections. traffic connectivity is not decreased, instead connections have been factioned and multiplied. this multiplication provides for two levels: the lower accommodates the transit and thru traffic, the upper accommodates the local ‘light traffic’, green areas and the public plaza. the proposal allows not only for the creation of a public space but also provides a ‘missing link’ between the different areas.
