Roof-top Garden Integrationshaus
Vienna
The Roof of Integrationshaus Wien offers a spectacular view of the city of Vienna and beyond. This has been taken as a starting point for planning a roof-garden for the inhabitants of the building, whose action radius is curtailed by their peculiar status as asylum-seekers, providing a place of refuge while at the same time opening the building to the city, creating an emblem of integration.
The central theme of the project is the opening up of new perspectives; the tension between long-term and short-term perspectives, and how the far/distant can be recognized, integrated and realised in the near and the present.

Realization project 2006-2011, a project in course of the festival ‚New Crowned Hope‘, Mozartjahr Wien 2006;
Otto Prutscher Prize 2006; Outstanding Artist Award - Experimental Tendencies in Architecture 2010 (distinction)
