The building sits within an urban landscape that is characterised by a curious juxtaposition between the Acropolis and the building remains of the migrated industries. The influx of cultural institutions and new residents are driving the rapid transformation into one of Athens' cultural hubs. The original factory building was left unused since the manufacturing moved out in the late 80's during which period it played a significant role. In the spirit of Marcel Proust "Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were." Thus we explore through our architectural design process of how to invite the public in forming the new future for this industrial icon and introduced new programmes and activities to the urban landscape. The Hub is a mixed used space of 1500 sqm that can accomodate any event or function.
