Expanding Light
Future Furniture Award - selected
The expanding light is composed of translucent fiberglass panels suspended on an acrylic tube. The fiberglass panels are loosely placed on the acrylic tube so that the location and density of the panels can be random, thus varying the amount of light emitted. The central acrylic tube is internally illuminated with LEDs lamps. Due to the nature of the fiberglass material used for the floating panels, this dynamic fixture can appear as a volume of suspended blurred light or as a glowing linear tube with vertical baffles depending on the angle of view.
