Florist Gallery N | House in Nagoya
Nagoya - selected
The house has three functions: a flower shop, an art gallery and living quarters. The three spaces are connected as one space and integrate each other. At the gallery, flowers are displayed as if they are art works. Because of pictures hanging in the flower shop, the space becomes closer to a house environment. The living place mixing with the public space becomes richer surrounding by the beautiful flowers and art works. There is a school behind the building. The schoolyard, offers an enjoyable view of the trees and flowers through the opening of the building. In an effort to blend the first floor art gallery and flower shop with the walkway leading to the school, we created an open space with the walkway as part of the building's exterior.
