This is a house in central Tokyo. Around the site is the mixed-use area where small houses, small factories, and small office buildings coexist together without any harmony. In order to adjust itself to the context, two kinds of feature were introduced. One was the simple box and the other was the pent-roof-like volume. Since the pent-roof exactly follows the shape of shadow, gardens including the courtyard around the roof are very bright.
