This is a small flower shop in a central Tokyo public park. This is a replacement for a 1970s store that was no longer sufficiently earthquake-resistant. There are many stone-clad edifice in Hibiya district where the site situates. The project is like a miniature of those buildings. It has stone façade, and the proportion of it is rather stable than slim nor flat. However the size of it is really small, whose height is only 7.5m. Also, since we divided the required floor area, 100 sq.m., into pieces, each building is amazingly small. Through height and transparency I hoped to evoke the ambiguity of enclosure and exposure created by the tree canopy in the park.
