VICAR MUNICIPALITY FACILITIES EXTENSION
VICAR , ALMERIA
On the south façade of the Vicar’s Consistorial House, over a narrow residual landscaped band, rises a two-storey lineal construction with a single centreline following the slope of the street. In order to ensure proper ventilation and natural light, the new construction is separated a few metres from the existing, permitting to liberate between both a space in which to situate a controlled access to the vestibule – at the level of the current building and in keeping with its flow of traffic towards its central courtyard – and the evacuation/unloading ramp of the semi-basement storey. This duality of meeting points between the two constructions tries to express in a natural way the diversity of characters of its immediate surroundings. All the rooms face south and are protected by a reddish stone blades. The external enclosures are reinforced concrete screen walls, made from aggregates and white cements, shuttered in wooden boards, with extrados in the internal face.
