Aurich - mentioned
- with heberle mayer architects - As part of an urban renewal the medieval city core’s backside was to be given a new face and to be connected with the urban tissue through a delicate network of narrow pedestrian passages. The new „front“ was fitted with a promenade and a generous open space, which presents the new setup. It creates a friendly, park-like setting, which embeds the existing row of public buildings. The design features a new urban typology, which inverts the existing situation and simultaneously interweaves with it sensitively.
