MASTERPLAN LAURENTINO | 2008
Rome - invited
The Masterplan foresees three types of actions for the public space: 1. introduction of pathways and squares for the pedestrian in urban context; 2. viability improvement with introduction of rounds in the district’s entrances; 3. in the rural context integration of pedestrian pathways (green and urban areas) and micro urban planning interventions. The new pedestrian walk is a “blitz” from the Laurentina Street to the park. It connects the Bridge 1 to the public spaces in the Laurentino district: the existing longwise direction is substituted with a diagonal crossing that puts in relation the natural and urban landscape. The aim is to have a plain surface with no steps underneath the bridge where different materials single out the parts for walking, sitting, and car route. LAND+STUDIOUAP+1AX
