Park Brederode
Bloemendaal
Park Brederode was designed as a seamless whole in the 19th century, but development has disrupted the original design, creating dispersed fragments. Important views have disappeared and new roads criss-cross the park. DS was assigned the challenge of making the park whole again. DS's proposed design includes the programmatic challenge of spatially integrating 350 new homes. Flora and fauna, as well as hydrological structures and cultural historical relics are among the multitude of informational strata that form the basis of the new landscape. DS, as landscape architects and urban planners, plays the key role in making this process successful.
