“Campeon”
Munich, Oberhaching - first prize
Architecturally speaking, the campus of Infineon provides the necessary infrastructure for the effective exchange of knowledge: spaces for research and work as well as spaces for communication, sports and recreation, whether indoor or outside. Six of the so-called modules – one - to three-storey building complexes subdivided into small units – are housing the offices and labs for management, research, development and administration. A continuous park landscape open to the public in the south of Munich was created. An earth embankment blocks off the landscape from the motorway and provides a noise barrier. The embankment rises from the plain like a dragon’s tail, and if you like you can see the moraine landscape of the foothills of the Alps in its sculpturally formed clods of earth.
