The design is inspired by the original forecourt layout of Gabriel Seidel from 1898. The theme of the sunken forum was derived from the design of the city squares in the early 20th century. The ulterior motive was to enlarge the perception of the forecourt. The forum is framed by a homogeneous area made up of dark and light stripes covering the square like a carpet. On two sides, framed with blocks out of granite, the plaza lowers regularly - beginning from the street - towards the main entrance. White, grey and sand-coloured granite and cut Buxus sempervirens hedges shape the new design of the plaza. The dark green of the hedges are building a strong contrast to the white stripes of the paving stone and the stainless steel framed lawn-banquettes. Outside the forum two groups, each of four Magnolia trees, emphasize the main entrance.
