Bonn - first prize
To achieve an overall ensemble of the three solitary buildings, the open spaces are designed as a continuous and homogenous plaza. The area is structured by large-sized concrete slabs. The surfaces of these slabs and the furniture match the materiality of the facade. The planting is determined by the combination of low-maintenance grasses and perennials, punctually canopyed by filigree Honey Locusts (Gleditsia). The funcional areas of access drives, walkways, and sitting areas are defined by a differentiated density of the planting. Since the underground garage extends over the entire site, the landscaping is planned as an intensive Green Roof on 1,4 hectare.
