Floating house
All over the world
Floating house is an innovative prototype for an ecological floating village combining the concepts of houseboat, with patio house and artificial beach in an unique manner. The project anticipates on the effects of global warming and responses to the recent development of Dutch floating houses that do not differ in form and program from standard row houses. Our proposal consists of small islands which are partly submerged in the water, enabling the full appreciation of the views onto the water as well as beach-deck on the roofs. The natural forms of the buildings minimize the visual distortion inflicted on the natural landscape. Each island has a rectangular patio, providing an intimate garden and entrance in the heart of each house. Wind, water and solar energy are integrated as sustainable sources of energy and floating gardens and greenhouses provide the community with self grown vegetables
