Lelystad - first prize
On the edge of Lelystad (planned and build in the 60’s on the biggest and last polder of the Netherlands, Flevoland) lies Bataviastad; a shopping mall with the Golden century theme. Outside the massive faux-fortress walls a large new public space is planned: Bataviaplaza. On this plaza, Powerhouse designed two small restaurants, that will act as public objects for fun, beauty and pleasure – a Gold pavilion and a Water pavilion. (Construction start january 2008)
