Urban design in the Kennemer dunes
Bloemendaal, Holland - invited
The former psychiatric hospital in the dunes of the kennemerland is develeoped into a new estate. The historical park designed by the landscape architect Springer used to be a place to strawl. The park is used as a footprint for the new development. It allows groups of old trees to regain their original setting. Historical remains are embedded. The curved street pattern is inforced by hedges. The villa's are hidden behind the hedges, as a sculptural rooflandscape between the trees.
