Philadelphia Urban Voids
Philadelphia - second prize
Ecological Reconfiguration of Philadelphia is a strategy, based on the localization of a series of low cost-interventions on the street network, for creating mechanisms that promote citizen participation: a launch pad for the auto-regeneration of urban fabric. Ecological Corridors: concentration of effort on a structural-line of activity. Areas with a high percentage of vacant lots will be connected with the downtown, as well as establishing connections with the present network of green spaces within the city. Urban Catalysts: revitalizing focus of the urban scene in Philadelphia. Connected with the downtown through the network of ecological corridors and strategically situated in zones with high concentrations of vacant spaces. Concentrator of public programs. Light and easily dismantled construction.
