Kunsthall Bremen
Bremen, Germany
The extension for the Kunsthall in Bremen articulates itself through the relationship of the light flooded circulation areas and the constitution of the closed, white cube exhibition space. This results in a differentiated sculpture, which is wrapped by a partly transparent, partly mirroring façade. the image of the surrounding museum and park is reflected and fragmented by the façade and the also mirroring walls of the white cube inside. the effect is evocative to dan grahams mirrored sculptures or andy warhols camouflage portraits. therefore, the building carefully integrates itself into the park and seems to blend into it mysteriously. the building deprives itself from a clear-cut identification it is disguised within the park. distorted images of reality are tempting the imagination of the visitors.
