SUSI is a house containing a veterinary office facing the south slope of the Puster Valley in south Tyrol. This building was designed as a passive house without heating. Energy efficiency and cost effectiveness also demanded that this building be a compact structure while ensuring that the apartment emanates generosity and is usable in a very flexible way. The efficient organisation of space allows for a spectacular living area over the full length of the building while offering insulation and a stunning view of the dolomites from the living rooms and bathroom. Free spaces of different character enlarge and complement the house successfully – that it be the classical forecourt and the wind protected dining area or the roof terrace which is shielded by three walls giving it the manner of a small court and inviting you to sunbathe or make a barbecue.
