SOTTOSOPRA
Milan
SOTTOSOPRA is a spatial device intended to enhance the quality of some leftover room spaces within a ‘milanese’ house. In particular, the three bedrooms of the house were characterised by a double level: the ground level and the upper level of the mezzanines. The intervention consists in a series of suspended elements inserted into the mezzanine space with the aim of giving a novel functional and perceptive value to the upper space. These elements, meanwhile, enable to leave free the ground level making it easily re-configurable. SOTTOSOPRA is a self-supporting architectural device which, emphasizing the three-dimensionality of the mezzanines, accentuates the visual depth of the bedrooms, extending the spatial perspective.
