This project consists of an outline planning application for Congham Hall Hotel. The proposals include extension and restoration of the existing indoor pool, restoration of the barn rooms, new orchard pods and self-catered woodland lodges. First a landscape and visual appraisal was undertaken to identify the developable area within the site and best locate the pods and woodland lodges. The masterplan was produced in collaboration with the architect, while we worked on the landscape design strategy, which focused on high-quality solution to match the hotel’s standards and the vision for the business evolution. A crucial part of the design strategy was the implementation of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), in forms of swales on the parkland edge, to respond to the site flooding constraints.
