concept for northern osaka station area
osaka, japan 2003 -
design intent: the main idea of this project is to create high density infrastructure strips that connect areas around the site. those infrastructure strips integrate programs such as parking, commercial and public spaces. they integrate the circulation system. the vehicle and trains circulation systems are mainly located on the edge of these strips, allowing the pedestrians to enjoy most of the remaining space. mixed use high rise buildings use those strips as a platform.
